- Tidal power is sometimes called Tidal energy. The way to extrac energy is called Kinetic and potential energy. Tidal power is classified as renewable energy.
2. Is it renewable?
- Yes tidal power is renewable.
3. Is this a good choice for your community? Explain.
- Yes, well in my opinion i think it is a very good choice. A reason is because it is renewable so there is no need for any damage to the enviornment.
4. How did George Washington use the force of water to power work?
- Honestly I don't know, I couldn't find it in the link you gave us. I even used the find thing and it didn't find it.
5. Solar - Write 5 facts about solar power.
- A fact about solar power is that the sun is its fuel. It may be expansive but it is enviornment friendly. Solar power is also a renweable energy. Solar power is also called solar energy. Not mant other people use solar power, for many rasons, one being that is it expensive and the other being that they don't think that it is a good source of power. Like when it rains, the sun still gives of rays so so the solar power never dies.
6. Can solar power be used effectively, where you live, to reduce your reliance on fossil fuels? Explain.
- Yes, I do believe, if they make a solar power plant, then yes. Like yesterday when there was a blackout, we could've used the solar power to power up the street lights.
7. Wind - Write 5 facts about wind power.
- Turbines power the wind enegery. Wind energy is powered by those windmills that you see when you pass arizona or something.
8. Can wind power be used effectively where you live to reduce your reliance on fossil fuels?
- Yes because the only thing you need to power it is wind and thos windmills.
9. Name two classes of animals that are potentially negatively impacted by wind turbines.
10. Give two examples, from the past, of wind being used to power work.
11. Biomass - Write 5 facts about biomass power.
12.Biomass also helps deal with an environmental issue. Name it. 13. List examples of the use of biomass energy in California.
14. Gas Hydrate - Write 4 facts about Gas hydrate. 15. Hydrogen - Write 4 facts about hydrogen as an alternative fuel. 16. The Efficient use of energy will reduce our demand for power. 1. Tidal Power is energy derived by exploiting the rise and fall in sea levels due to the tides. There are two types of energy systems that can be used to extract energy: kinetic energy, the moving water of rivers, tides as face ocean currents; and potential energy from the difference in height (or head) between high and low tides. The former method - generating energy from tidal currents uses turbines in a similar way to underwater windmills - is gaining in popularity because of the lower ecological impact compared to potential systems that are similar to dams sometimes called barrages or tidal fences. 2. yes it is renewable because 3. No because there is no sea or tidal waves near our city 4. 5. 6. yes because solar is using the power of the sun but fossil fuel destroys the ozone layer while solar power doesn't 7. 8. yes because wind power uses the power of the wind by using windmills 9. birds or other animals that can fly have a negative impact on wind turbines 10.
